The challenge

  • Basements and rural sites often have no signal
  • Paper forms got lost or were hard to read
  • Office staff re-typed data into the planning system
  • Customers wanted a signed report immediately

What we delivered

  • Daily work orders with customer details and history
  • Checklists, photos and the customer’s signature on the device
  • Offline-first storage with automatic sync
  • PDF work report emailed to the customer on completion
  • Integration with the existing planning system through its API
  • Push notifications for new or changed jobs

How we delivered

We built one React Native codebase for iOS and Android, with a local database on the device so the app keeps working without a connection. After a pilot with a small group of technicians, the app was rolled out to the whole team.
