01
The challenge
- The end users are not technical
- Households use many speaker brands and protocols
- Prayer times depend on location and calculation method
- The device had to run unattended for months
02
What we delivered
- Setup wizard through the device’s own WiFi hotspot and captive portal
- Speaker support for Sonos, Samsung, Chromecast and DLNA/UPnP
- Daily prayer times from the Aladhan API with 14 calculation methods
- Mobile-first web dashboard and REST API
- Native iOS companion app in SwiftUI
- systemd services, a status LED and install scripts for reliable unattended operation
03
How we delivered
We built a Python service on Raspberry Pi with a web dashboard and REST API, managed by systemd. The SwiftUI app uses the same API, and we designed the whole setup flow around a single QR code on the device sticker.
04
Outcomes
01
Set up in minutes without technical knowledge
02
Works with the speakers customers already own
03
Runs unattended, day after day
